Meeting Rick and Diane amid the COVID-19 lockdown was an unforgettable experience. Despite the challenges of doing business while a pandemic was in full swing, we were determined to help our new clients transition smoothly into their dream retirement community. With masks on and disinfectant wipes in hand, my assistant and I met with the couple for over two hours, discussing their needs and concerns.
Rick, an ultra-marathon runner, shared his homemade lavender Earl Grey tea with us—and Diane, a passionate bird lover, had one special request: the bird nests around their home had to stay undisturbed until all the baby birds were ready to fly away.
Diane was a staunch advocate for the baby birds, so much so that while negotiating the terms of our listing agreement, this unique requirement made it into the contract!
This first visit with Rick and Diane was a delightful experience we will always remember fondly.
Initially, we planned to wait until after the pandemic to sell the couple’s home. However, an unexpected opportunity arose when they received a call from an elite senior facility nearby. Nestled against a mountain range and a vast state park with hundreds of miles of trails, it was Rick’s dream come true for running and a paradise for Diane’s bird watching.
Well, given their beloved home’s location in one of the most desirable areas in the US, it didn’t take long to find a buyer. Rick and Diane moved into their dream retirement community, where they now enjoy an active and fulfilling life.
Helping our clients navigate this kind of transition during such a challenging time was a testament to our commitment and adaptability. Today, they are happily settled and living their dream, and we are grateful to have been a part of their journey.
Sincerely,
Julie
